    Is there any plan to feature a showcase forum on this website (or can I simply not find it)?

    We don’t have one currently. You are welcome to post about your latest work here in The Lounge.

    Here’s my Thematic Site http://www.drecart.com/

    It borrows lots from Scott Nix’s Responsive Base http://scottnix.com/responsive-base-a-child-theme-for-thematic/ except I’m so lazy I’ve never made the Contact Form 7 plugin responsive….. One day.

    drec,

    To make Contact Form7 responsive, all I needed to add was:

    .wpcf7-text, .wpcf7-textarea {
     max-width: 100%;
     }

    Beautiful theme, dominornovus! I love your breadcrumb styling.

    A couple suggestions:
    Your page titles don’t contain the website name. So, many of your Google listings aren’t displaying your branding. (Do a search for “site:killylisscountryhouse.com” and you’ll see). This is an issue with the current version of thematic. You can recreate the meta title tag in your functions.php. Or, what I did is just use the Yoast SEO plugin, and that took care of it with the default settings. I suppose it makes more sense to fix it in the functions, in case you ever switch plugins.

    Your favicon is just a red square (viewed in Win 7).

    You may want to look into a caching plugin. (Says the guy who also needs look into one). With all the bells and whistles, your site’s a little heavy.

    You should look at your site with images turned off. You’ll see there’s some white text on white background, and that you have no alt tags. BTW – Can someone clue me in as to why WordPress requires Title tags and not Alt tags? It makes no sense to me.

    @landingonjupiter: Much thanks for taking the time to review the website and provide useful feedback. I’ll tend to your four points this weekend. I’ll let you know how it goes.

    Dominornovus – what a stunning menu! Love it!

    I’ve been creating websites for just a couple of years now and chose Thematic as my framework from the beginning of working with WordPress. It has taught me a lot and I thought I’d post some of my child theme sites here to get any feedback – good or bad!

    I notice the showcase thread is closed to new posts – is it forbidden now? We have beautiful looking themes to show of; built on top of thematic.

    This one is built on thematic and wp-ecommerce:  http://www.katherinesflorists.co.uk/

    No not forbidden. Reopened and merged. 🙂

    That’s awesome.
