I downloaded the Thematic Framework and installed it on my wordpress site. When I was able to preview it before I installed it, there was a large customization menu with a lot of options to customize everything. After I installed and activated the framework, the large customization is gone and there’s only the small regular wordpress customization menu. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
The default parent theme does not come with a huge options panel and customization options. It adds only a small options page for things like the footer text, and otherwise relies on the standard wordpress customization menu. Extras like custom backgrounds, custom headers etc are left up to each child theme to decide to use and enable.
