    Hello!

I’m working on webpage for my buddy. And i have three major, but probably simple problems.

a)How can i get rid off this stupid floating link to mainpage, and replace it with image?
b)How can i put search box to my header with custom “go” button?
c)I have pasted ‘add_theme_support( ‘custom-background’ );’ into the functions.php and everytime i change it online it turns white again, i’ve also tried css background image….

For the record, it is much better to post a link to an existing site than pasting the whole contents of your css file. Images don’t help either that much since one usually needs to examine the code of a page in order to help. I will do my best to answer your question anyway.

    a) Do you mean the blog title? You have two choices. Either 1) use an image replacement technique in your css and replace the text with a background image. Or 2) create a function named childtheme_override_blogtitle() in your child theme’s functions.php and add the image to the html markup.

    b) I think the easiest way would be to modify the thematic_access function. In Thematic, find the file library/header-extensions.php. At the bottom of the file, find the function named thematic_access(). Copy that code to your child theme’s functions.php and rename it to childtheme_override_access(). In the end of that function you can add the searchform (call the thematic_search_form() function or add the markup of your choice). The button text on the thematic search form can be changed with the filter thematic_search_submit

    c) I don’t really understand what you are trying to do here and what is happening. Are you wanting to change the background of the whole site or just the header? The custom background feature refers to the whole site and there usually is nothing more needed than that line in order to make it work. To find out why it doesn’t work for you, I would need a link to the site to check and a bit more information. The background of the header is set with css.

As a side note, you are missing the closing bracket of the #blog-title css, just before the menu section. That might cause some issues with styling not being applied for the menu.
