    Interesting bump on the road with your theme here Scott…

    It doesn’t seem to catch the media query on Internet Explorer 8.  So the min-width gets ignored and it displays the lower mobile CSS instead.

    Am trying to find a hack…any suggestions?

    Edit – got it!  css3-mediaqueries.js seemed to do the trick nicely and I just tucked it into the footer thanks to your childtheme_script_manager.

    Hello, me again, i am taking a look at different child themes of thematic and with child themes it happens something odd like the jquery libraries not working of the flexslider,

    when i create 3 sticky posts with a features image each and a description (like body of the post lorem ipsum and so on) i get the list bullets appearing each sticky post with its image but all the content is bulleted, my question is how can i make the slideshow works?? the actual markup of my local install of wp and the child theme is:

    <ul class=”slides”>
    <li>
    <a href=”#”>
    <img class=”attachment-featured-slider wp-post-image” alt=”Numero-1″ src=”image.jpg”>
    </a>
    <p class=”flex-caption”>
    <a title=”Post 3″ href=”#”>
    <span>Featured:</span>
    Post 3
    </a>
    </p>
    </li>

    and the ones in the demonstration of childs theme is:

    <ul class=”slides”>
    <li style=”width: 100%; float: left; margin-right: -100%; display: list-item;”>
    <a href=”#”>
    <img class=”attachment-featured-slider wp-post-image” alt=”childs-play-flexslider-demo1″ src=”#”>
    </a>
    <p class=”flex-caption”>
    <a title=”Layout Test” href=”#”>
    <span>Featured:</span>
    Layout Test
    </a>
    </p>
    </li>

    Thanks in advance for helping me out.

    Salutations.

    Sorry it seems that if i enclose the code in html tags it reads from my localhost. so i have to unwrap with html tag.

    Sorry about my english. i am a spanish spoken person 😀

    i hope it can be understood 😀

    You are correct in that it looks as if the Flexslider jQuery is not loading. It is not possible to figure out why based on the information provided. You should be able to use Child’s Play as a reference to figure out how I achieved the loading. It is probably something very easy.

    Problem solved it needs just a very little content on the sticky posts like 2 lines or else it doesnt show up at all (if the content on the post->description  is too long).

    // enqueue the scripts for use in theme
    wp_enqueue_script (‘modernizr-js’);
    wp_enqueue_script (‘fitvids-js’);
    wp_enqueue_style (‘icon-fonts-css’);

    if ( is_front_page() ) {
    wp_enqueue_script (‘flexslider-js’);
    wp_enqueue_style (‘flexslider-css’);
    }

    This is the problem, Thanks to encourage me to find the solutions Scott.

    Glad you got it working, by default it will only work on the front_page, I have a beef with sliders and assets in general loading on every page when they are only needed for a few.

    I also figured I would add that conditional to show an example of how easy it is to control the loading of assets through WP’s conditionals, so if someone wants the slider somewhere else, just swap the conditional, there are a few other relevant bits to change also. 🙂
